Parts of speech

Definition - Words are divided into eight clauses according to their function , it is called parts of speech.


There are eight kinds of parts of speech -
1.Noun 2. Pronoun 3. Adjective 4. Verb 5.Adverb 6. Preposition 7. Conjunction 8. Interjection  

Noun ( संज्ञा ) -  A noun is a naming word. i.e., A noun is the name of person , place , animal ,thing or an idea .

e.g. - Ram , Patna , Cow , Book , childhood etc. 

Pronoun ( सर्वनाम )  - A pronoun is a word that is used in place of a noun .

e.g.-He , She , It etc.

Adjective ( विशेषण ) - An  adjective is a word that describes noun or a pronoun .


e.g. - Red , Good , Bad etc.

Verb  ( क्रिया ) - A verb is a doing word .

e.g. - Is , Am , Are , Read ,Go etc.

Adverb  (क्रिया-विशेषण ) - An adverb is a word  which modifies the meaning of a verb . 

e.g.- slowly , fast , quickly etc.

Preposition (संबंध-बोधक अव्यय ) - A preposition is a word which joins noun or pronoun to some other words in a sentence .


e.g. - In , out , on , under etc.

Conjunction (समुच्चयबोधक अव्यय ) - A conjunction is a word which joins two words or sentences together .


e.g.- And , But , or , either etc.

Interjection (विस्मयादिबोधक अव्यय) - An interjection is a word which expresses some sudden feelings of mind .


e.g.- Oh , Alas , Hurrah etc

Grammar (व्याकरण) - A grammar is an education in which we study how to correct read , write and speak .


There are five kinds of grammar -

1.Orthography (वर्ण-विचार) 2.Itimology(शब्द-विचार)  3.Syntax(वाक्यविचार)4.Punctuation(चिह्न-विचार) 5. Procody (छन्द-विचार)


अब हम यहाँ से "Parts of speech"के अलग -अलग Parts के बारे मे विस्तार से जानेंगे ।

There are five kinds of noun -

1. Proper Noun -  A proper noun is the name of a particular person , place , animal or thing.

e.g.- Ram , Shyam , Sita , Patna , Moti etc.
( किसी वस्तु ,व्यक्ति , स्थान या जानवर के खास नाम को Proper Noun (व्यक्ति वाचक संज्ञा) कहते है ।) 
जैसे - राम , मोहन , पटना , टामी इत्यादि ।

2.Common Noun  - A common noun is a name of given common to every person , place , animal or thing of the same kind.

 e.g.- Girl ,Boy, City , Dog , State etc. .
( जिस संज्ञा से किसी व्यक्ति , वस्तु , स्थान या जानवर के पूरी जाति या श्रेणी का बोध होता है , उसे जाति वाचक संज्ञा कहते है ।)
जैसे - लड़की , लड़का , शहर , कुत्ता इत्यादि ।

3.Collective Noun -  A collective noun is the name of a number of persons , places , animals or things taken together.

e.g.- Class , Crowd , Bunch , Flock etc.
(जिस संज्ञा से एक ही तरह के व्यक्तियों या वस्तुओं के समूह का बोध होता है , उसे समूह वाचक संज्ञा कहते है ।) 

4.Material Noun - A material noun is the name of a material substances .

eg.- Water , Milk , Gold , rice , ink , sugar etc. 
( जिस संज्ञा से किसी द्रव्य / पदार्थ का बोध होता है , जिसे मापा तौला जा सके , जिससे विभिन्न वस्तुओं का निर्माण होता है , उसे द्रव्य वाचक संज्ञा कहते है ।) 

5.Abstract Noun - An abstract noun is the name of some quality , state , feeling or idea that we can only think of or feel but can not see or touch .

e.g.- Kindness , Sickness , greatness , Darkness etc. 
( उस गुण , अवस्था , विचार या भाव के नाम को भाव वाचक संज्ञा कहते है जिसे देखा या छुआ नही जा सकता है , सिर्फ अनुभव किया जा सकता है ।)

 According to  modern classification of noun , there are three kinds of noun :- 1.Proper Noun :- A proper noun is the name of particular person , place , animal or thing. e.g.- Sohan , Nepal , Sunday , Lucy etc. 2.Countable  Noun:- The noun which can be counted is called countable noun . e.g.-cow , dog , man , leg , book, star , river etc. 3.Uncountable Noun:- The noun which can't be counted is called uncountable noun. e.g.- Rice,Oil,water,Butter, Beauty,Honesty, Friendship, Fear etc. Note :-   1.Uncountable Noun के पहले न तो a/an का प्रयोग होता है , न ही इसका Plural Form होता है । 2.Countable Noun के पहले a/an का प्रयोग होता है और इसका Plural Form भी होता है । e.g.- a boy , boys , an ant , ants etc. 3. हिन्दी भाषा मे रोटी एक Countable Noun है But अंग्रेजी भाषा मे Bread Uncountable है । So आप एक रोटी की अंग्रेजी a bread न लिखकर  ' a piece of bread' लिखेंं । चार रोटियाँ - four pieces of bread लिखेंं। Always Remember :- Old Grammar के अनुसार Noun क

". SENTENCE"

Definition :- A meaningful arrangement of words is called a sentence .e.g.- Go, Come , Laugh , Ram is a good boy. etc. There are five kinds of sentence :- 1. Assertive Sentence    2.Interrogative Sentence    3.Imperative Sentence    4. Optative Sentence    5.Exclamatory Sentence 1. Assertive Sentence :- A sentence that makes a statement , is called Assertive Sentence . e.g.- We are going to market. He is a student. etc. 2.Interrogative Sentence :- A sentence that asks a question is called an interrogative sentence. e.g.-What are you doing? Where do you go?etc. 3.Imperative Sentence :- A sentence that expresses an order , a request or a piece of advice is called an Imperative Sentence . e.g.-Bring a glass of water.please help me. Take medicine in time. etc. 4.Optative Sentence :- A sentence that expresses some curse , blessing , prayer or wish is called an Optative Sentence . e.g.- May God help you ! May you live long ! May he get success !etc.

" TENSE "

There are three kinds of tense:- 1.present tense (वर्तमान काल ) 2.past tense       ( भूत   काल  ) 3.Future tense   ( भविष्यत् काल) का There are four kinds of present tense  :-                                 1.present Indefinite Tense   2.Present Continuous Tense   3.present Perfect Tense   4.present perfect continuous Tense   There are four kinds of past tense :- 1.Past Indefinite Tense   2.Past Continuous Tense   3.Past Perfect Tense  4.Past Perfect Continuous Tense There are four kinds of future tense:- 1.Future Indefinite Tense 2.Future Continuous Tense 3.Future Perfect Tense 4.Future Perfect Continuous Tense             " Rules for Translation" 1.Present Indefinite Tense पहचान :- जिस हिंदी वाक्य के अंंत में ता हूं,ती हूं, ते है ,ती हो ,ते हो,ती है, ता है।    इत््य्ता आता है, उसे present indefinite tense का वाक्य समझते हैं। 1.Affirmative sentence:-     #     I/ We/You/They + V + O  e.g.:- मैं पढ़ता हूं ।  I read.
